It also has a great variety of touristic attractions not related to hunting and it is an excellent option for family vacations.

South Africa is the southernmost Country of the continent and it is the only Country bordered by both the Atlantic and Indian oceans. Covers an area that extends over 1.200.000 Km² and has several ecosystems; each one with its variety of species. In the west the red sand of the Kalabeari’s desert are found, where the biggest gemsbok in Africa and other species adapted for the arid climate are to be found. The biggest part of the Countryside is formed by large grasslands and savannah with a big concentration of acacia trees and several kinds of bushes; and there is also a large number of species in this region.

Yet in North, the savannahs give place to a dense concentration of thorny bushes and to a forest that goes up to the shore of the Limpopo River, which is the dividing line between South Africa and Zimbabwe. In this great habitat for hunting, species like kudu, Limpopo bushbuck, waterbuck and leopards, among others, are abundant. The east of the Country, the area of Zululand is mountainous and with highly dense sand forests, which makes it the perfect home for the nyala. In Northeast, extends the famous Kruger Park throughout big part of the Country and has several game reserves within its borders. It is where the hunting for the Big 5 is given for the best in the Country. The availability of buffalos, elephants and lions is excellent, with specimen ordinarily above average and are regularly obtained.

With a big importance in the Country’s economy, both photographic and hunting tourism exists throughout South Africa and it is one of the reasons for being the most popular destination among hunters. The variety of simple hunting in farms and even safaris in campsites and resorts, as well as excellently trained teams, makes the Country offer the biggest variety of modalities and species in the continent.

In the safaris conducted in private areas, there is no season established, but the period between May and October offers the best climate conditions.

Areas in the North such as Mpumalanga, famous for its concentration and quality of elephants, lions, rhinos and buffalos have extremely small quotas. It is in this area where the giant kudu, huge impalas and boars are found. Besides that, other less prized species like gemsbok, hartebeest and sable also have large populations in the region.
