Leopard (Panthera pardus)

Honored in parts of the African continent and Asian as a symbol of strength and beauty; the Leopard is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful felines on Earth.

Comprising the “Big Five” along with the Lion, Elephant, Rhino and Buffalo, the Leopard is one of the 4 big felines of the Pain thera gender. Along with the Tiger, Lion and the jaguar they are the biggest felines of the world.

The males can reach the 100 kg and up to 1,7 m length, with 7 cm nails. But they average measurements are from 1,3 m to 1,6 m and 50 to 80 kg. The females have a size physically smaller. They are extremely strong and can slaughter preys with the double of its weight, carrying them by the teeth to the top of the tree, that way they do not lose their meal to hyenas and lions.

They have an unmistakable fur, with the pattern of a yellow Dolphin-fish and black stains throughout the body. This pattern allows a perfect camouflage when approximating to the prey, giving the Leopard the title of the most successful and accurate hunter in Africa.
