Zebra (Equus)

Certainly, this equine is an icon of the African fauna. Zebras cross plains of several African Countries and present different pattern of stripes, according to the geographic location of its habitat.

Both genders can measure from 1,1 m to 1,5 m high (up to the shoulders), 2 m to 2,5 m length and weigh up to 380 kg.

Burchell’s Zebra (Equus burchelli) is the most common species and it is spread through Countries like Ethiopia, Tanzania, Kenya, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana and South Africa. They can be distinguished through the gray-black stripes between the remarkable black and white’s. Yet the Hartmann’s Zebra presents only the strong alternate stripes in black and white.
