Hunting > Zimbabwe
INTRODUCTION
The former Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe, has become a different safari destination of any other else in Africa. A Country not so big, with its size similar to the State of Minas Gerais, and that hosts several opportunities to any visitor. Owner of a huge variety of inhabitants and a unique abundance of species, Zimbabwe is the destination of hunters since it was discovered and still remains until today. From its wetlands and rich shore of the Zambezi River in the North, up to the Bubye River Valley in South, it is possible to find vast savannahs and inscrutable acacia trees forests and thorny bushes.
Species like the kudu and the sable are present in several regions and the Country is known as a great destination for the Big 4 (elephant, lion, leopard and buffalo). Add this to an excellent infrastructure of the famous destination of Victoria Falls (the biggest waterfall in the world), and one can understand the reason of this Country’s popularity. The Zambezi River Valley is an excellent hunting region and it is present its literature for over 100 years, continuing to produce major specimen.
The safaris are conducted in private farms, tribal areas and governmental concessions. The plains game safaris are similar to the ones found in South Africa. In tribal areas or in the concessions the Big 4 are the most wanted and are the great reason for the location’s popularity.
A recent decreasing in tourism numbers in the Country made the safaris sector considerably reduce their prices and turn Zimbabwe into an excellent cost-benefit destination.
OC is pleased to offer multiple options for safaris in Zimbabwe. From simple plains game up to the Big 4 or photographic safaris up to a visit to the Victoria Falls, we make your safari especially for you.
