Impala (Damaliscus pygarus)

The Impala is a Small/medium sized antelope, spread through several African Countries. Its adaptability to different habitats has given him the title of the most abundant antelope in Africa.

Only the male of this species have horns that grow from 45 cm to 95 cm. The Impalas can measure from 70 cm to 90 cm length, varied height between 55 cm to 75 cm (up to the shoulders) and weight of 40 kg to 75 kg. The females weight, in average, from 30 to 50 kg.

Males and females have similar color, the back area is brown reddish with a light brown stripe on the side and the white belly. The white tail with black stripes is a unique characteristic of this species.
