Sitatunga (Tragelaphus spekii)

The Sitatunga is a very well adapted antelope to life in wetlands and areas of dense forest where they live in. they are excellent swimmers and use rivers and Lakes to escape from predators, since they can stay immerse, only with the nostrils out of the water very easily.

The males usually are lonely and have a dark brown fur, while the females have a reddish brown fur and can form smalls groups. They both have white stripes perpendicular to its spine and white stains on the face.

There are three kinds of Sitatunga which may vary according to the region in which are found:

- Zambezi Sitatunga: is the most common of them and can be found in Zambia;
- East Sitatunga: usually found in a west area in Tanzania;
- Forest Sitatunga: lives in the Cameroon, Zambia and Uganda.
