Red Deer (Cervus elaphus)

The Red Deer is one of the greatest species of deer. It is an animal original from the European continent; and it is present in several Asian and American Countries, thanks to its extreme adaptability.

Their measures are from 90 cm to 1,3 m high, 1,7 m to 2,5 m length and weight from 150 kg to 230 kg.

Males have majestic horns that can have more than 25 tips each; however, the females do not have horns. They have a brown reddish fur that may vary in tones of red. The males engage violent battles for having the right of mating and territory, since they are extremely strong animals. They form groups from up to 30 animals, always with only a dominant male.
