Puku (Kobus vardonii)

Puku is an antelope of golden brown fur and is medium sized; they are always found close to the water, since they like wetlands. They are more active in the breaking dawn and the nightfall. They form Groups with a dominant male which is territorial and defend their group at any cost.

It is 80 cm high (up to the shoulders) and weighs from 70 kg to 80 kg. Only the male have horns that can exceed the 50 cm.

It is found in Zambia and in parts of Tanzania and Botswana.
