Cougar (Puma concolor)
The Cougar or Suçuarana, so-called in Brazil, is present in several Countries in the American continent. Due to its high adaptability, Suçuaranas can be found either in negative temperature environments such as North Canada, or in scalding environments, such as the Brazilian Pantanal.
A male adult Suçuarana can be 60 cm to 90 cm high (up to the shoulders), up to 2,8 m length and weigh from 60 kg to 100 kg. The females have smaller physical proportions.
With a fur varying from light brown up to the strong red, according to the region it lives in and has the perfect camouflage which it brilliantly uses when it is hunting.
